Top tennis in a legend’s living room: The Rafa Nadal Open

Tennis icon Rafael Nadal may have ended his active career, but he continues to shape the sport in his hometown of Manacor. His renowned Rafa Nadal Academy is also located here. From August 31 to September 6, the facility will be the venue for world-class tennis: at the Rafa Nadal Open’s eighth edition, top international talents and up-and-coming professionals will compete for world ranking points on the ATP Challenger Tour. By the way, the Academy is not only a talent factory for the stars of tomorrow, but also offers training programs for recreational players.

A feast for the senses: The traditional Fira d'Alcúdia

As the summer heat slowly subsides, the historic north of the island dresses up for one of its most colorful autumn festivals. From 2 to 4 October, the old town of Alcúdia, surrounded by medieval walls, will be transformed into a lively stage for Mallorcan culture, traditional crafts, and regional specialties. Whether spicy cheese, fresh olive oil, or live music – you can feel the real, authentic Mallorca here. A special highlight is the famous street parade of giant papier-mâché figures (S'Estol del Rei en Jaume), which parade through the alleys and provide bizarre photo moments. Mallorca’s green secret: The waterfalls of ES Salt Des Freu

With the first heavy autumn rains, the Tramuntana mountains awaken from their summer sleep and shine in fresh green. This is the perfect time for an hour-long hike to the island's most spectacular natural waterfall, Es Salt des Freu. The path leads through shady holm oak forests, past moss-covered rocks and small streams, before the rare natural spectacle reveals itself: crystal-clear water plunging over several cascades into the gorge, transforming the landscape into an almost fairytale backdrop. Especially in autumn, the walk is one of the most impressive outdoor experiences in Mallorca.
